Running Free August 27 2020
I have been a runner for 17 years. Sixteen of those years I have completed at least one half or full marathon. I have run miles in every city I have visited in blistering heat, rain, and snow. I have run with any friend who has been around me much, usually convincing them to do a half marathon at some point. I have run solo, with groups, with music, with audio books but mostly in silence. I have suffered and recovered from injuries. I have had countless pairs of running shoes and logged thousands of miles. I have run road and trails and loved all of it.
One of the principal things I love about running is the simplicity. You can walk out your door and run. It can be as easy or hard as you choose, and as long or short as you like. No special equipment required.
I have noticed more and more people on the roads running lately. Have you considered it? Do you have a vision of yourself as a runner but don’t know how to start? I have designed a Couch to 5k program for folks just like you! This is a program that gets you up and moving and completing a 5K in 6 weeks. I have done my best to scaffold the running very gradually for the easiest transition. With so many of us staying close to home, this is a great way to still be active and challenge yourself. Activity is such an important part of our wellness. I found a real love for running over the years and I cannot help but want to share that. Let me know if you are considering trying out the program! I would love to hear from you! heather@thoughtblossoms.com
