Hearing the Silence August 13 2020

As we continue to tread through this pandemic there is a silence that I have noticed.  A silence around how to build our immunity.  What to do to create better all-around health so that our bodies can perform at their best.  A return to our wholeness.  I have always had an interest in health and wellness, so it is no surprise that I find myself wanting to share the things I have learned along the way.  I am no expert so I will draw what speaks to me from someone who is a health professional that I admire and respect, Dr. Christiane Northrup.  She is a board-certified physician and a pioneer and leading authority in the field of women’s health and wellness.  In her article “Build Your Immunity” she marks the following components to a strong immune system:

 

  1. Optimum Vitamin D levels
  2. Vitamin C 1000-2000mg daily, more if tolerable
  3. 8-10 hours of sleep
  4. Decrease stress hormones through:
    -sleep
    -exercise
    -meditation
  1. Be Media Savvy (I call this a media diet and it has proved critical in alleviating anxiety)
  2. Keeping upbeat company
